Houston Rockets forward Danuel House took a hard foul from guard Goran Dragic late in 117-108 win over the Heat. What’s the latest on his status?

The Houston Rockets are able to snap their three-game losing streak after getting a quality win over the surging Miami Heat in a commanding fashion.  They were able to get the decision with a 117-108 win and it’s apparent that things are getting back on track after a slight derail.

With a game that had the Houston Rockets up by as much as 25 points and with just one lead change and one tie throughout the game, this was clearly a matchup where the team was in the driver’s seat for most of the way.

The Miami Heat continue to impress with a 12-5 record, good for 4th-best in the Eastern Conference.  They’ve got a nice, young core that’s centered around Jimmy Butler, who did not play last night with an injury.

Goran Dragic, Duncan Robinson, Kelly Olynyk, Bam Adebayo as well as phenomenal rookie Tyler Herro off the bench all make for an exciting combination of players that have the team ranked 5th in defensive efficiency, allowing just 100.8 points per 100 possessions.

The Houston Rockets certainly put a monkey wrench in the Heat’s typical plans last night but the fact that kept their foot on the gas most of the way goes to show some growth on the team.  The Heat did close within 12 late in the game but they were able to hold on and finally extinguish their flames.

In what would categorize as a blowout win, there were some fireworks of sorts with about 32

seconds left in the game.  Danuel House was driving left to the basket from the left corner of the court when Dragic fouled him hard, possibly in frustration, on the way to the basket.

House did not like it and he threw a basketball at him because of it.  Initially, the call was a common foul but was upgraded to a Flagrant Level 1 after review because of the severity of the impact when it was absolutely unnecessary with the team up by 10, when the score was 115-105 at that mark.

The impact did get to House’s sore left shoulder, an injury that he’s been battling for a few games now and there was a brief skirmish before teammates, as well as the referees, were able to break it up.  House was also hit with a tech because of his actions with the basketball.

Despite the lick he took from Dragic, he said that he will be available for practice Friday and hopefully he will be good to go against the Atlanta Hawks Saturday night at Toyota Center.
