Houston Texans cornerback Bradley Roby has returned to practice with his hopes pinned on returning against the New England Patriots this Sunday. What’s up?

Houston Texans fans — the countdown begins before the team takes on the New England Patriots this Sunday.  This will be, by far, the biggest matchup of the season and it’s up to this team to make the most of it.

I think that Houston Texans will do so and not get embarrassed in front of a national audience.  Have you seen Deshaun Watson when the lights are bright?  I’m confident that he won’t disappoint in the clutch but Bill O’Brien and Tim Kelly are going to have to do their best play-calling known to man to outsmart Bill Belichick.

O’Brien has never beat Belichick in his NFL coaching career and I’m sure he’d like for that to happen, not mention that the storyline of the Houston Texans winning that game would be biggest of the year.

We’ll have to see though — as always, that’s why you have to play the games.

But as we reflect on last Thursday’s key 20-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts, it’s time to focus on the guys that will be available to play as they’re going to need every warm body they can think of to have out on the gridiron to compete.

We already know that linebacker Dylan Cole will be out for the season as he will have season-ending surgery to his ACL.  Whether or not the Houston Texans decide to bring him back remains to be seen.

However, the news of cornerback Bradley Roby coming back into the fold is getting clearer as he

was at practice yesterday and hopefully he will be available against the Pats this Sunday.

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported that Roby, along with Justin Reid and Lonnie Johnson Jr., were on-hand for practice.

Reid and Johnson are still in concussion protocol and Roby has missed the past four games with a hamstring injury.

Will Fuller was able to make his return this week from his hamstring ailment, hauling in seven balls for 140 yards with an amazing 51-yard catch from Watson.

Vernon Hargreaves has stepped in for Roby and prior to his signing, it was Gareon Conley but they’re not close to Roby’s talents and it’d be great to see him out there against the Pats’ offense.

Let’s hope for the best — go Houston Texans!

Roby has amassed 24 tackles — 22 solos — along with four passes defensed, one forced fumble and one tackle-for-loss through six starts this season.
