Houston Rockets: 3 thriving things about Tyson Chandler that help team
Thing #2: Rebounding
One of Chandler’s strong points has always been his rebounding and the fact that he’s able to average plenty of game in this stage of his career is nothing short of amazing. He’s not pulling down as much as he did when he regularly was doing it double-digits a season but he’s averaging close to six per game.
And don’t give me the argument that because of his height, he should be able to. Rebounding takes skill, grit, sweat, heart and hustle and you have to know where that ball is going to go ensure it gets into your hands.
Just ask Dennis Rodman — one of the best players I’ve ever seen in my life being able to do something so tough for many but with relative ease.
Chandler’s total rebounding rate percentage of 18.3 is right on par of what he has averaged for his career and it shows that he’s still got it in that department.
This will come in handy in those stretches when Capela is on the bench and the Houston Rockets needing someone to keep the glass wiped clean.
He’s that guy.
