Week 17: Tennessee @ Houston – Dec. 29 – Noon (CBS) – W (11-5)
2019 Record: 11-5
A close loss to New Orleans should launch us to four straight wins, which will include three big wins against the Chargers, Panthers, and Falcons. A pair of losses to two high-quality opponents in Kansas City and Indianapolis will derail the Texans, but only temporarily.
We’ll follow up with two wins against Oakland and a hard-fought international win over

Jacksonville. The bye-week will show some rust from us as the Ravens bring us down to earth. Houston earns a split with Indianapolis. It’ll be another close game with New England, but the result will stay the same. From then on, five straight wins puts Houston at 11-5.
Is that enough for the playoffs?
The good news is yes, it is. However, we finish behind Indianapolis for the AFC South Division and take the fifth seed in the AFC. This means a wild-card matchup on the road against the Ravens. But hey, we can learn from that loss for revenge and a win, right?
This is perhaps the best-case scenario for us in my opinion to make the playoffs. Experts will have us going 9-7 or 8-8 because of the schedule and our play. But the players are the ones that can change the predictions.
So I may be bold enough and say 11-5 is how we’ll finish up in 2019. I could be wrong, but I feel like this team continues to get better and the bright spot is within reach. How close remains to be seen. These predictions might change in the next two months for better or worse. But at least we have an inkling of what we’re dealing with this year.
