Houston Rockets: Game 5 will be the most important against Warriors
The Houston Rockets have knotted the series at two apiece. Why will Game 5 be the turning point of the series? Let’s take a look and find out.
Down 2-0 to Golden State, it appeared the Houston Rockets were in trouble. But after two hard-fought wins in Houston, the series has shifted in their favor. Now the Houston Rockets must keep it up with a win at Oracle Arena.
What a difference a week makes people. We knew that the series with Golden State was going to be intense and tight, but I don’t think any of us were thinking of how it has played out so far. I game one, the Houston Rockets lose a tough game 104-100. That would be overshadowed by the refereeing controversy and the Houston Rockets‘ pettiness about wanting a fair chance. In game two, despite everyone’s favorite referee Scott Foster (sarcasm folks) being on the court, the Houston Rockets falter 115-109 to find themselves down 2-0.
Obviously, the narrative was going to be about the Houston Rockets being dead and not stepping up from the media. But when the series shifted to Houston, so to did the momentum. Game three was an epic 126-121 victory in overtime with Harden going off for 41 points. Then last night, the Houston Rockets managed to hold off the Warriors 112-108 to even the series.
It’s been an incredibly dogfight of a series up to this point and it’s expected to continue even into Wednesday. When you look at it from multiple angles, you can see why. Not one game has been a blowout so far. A few possessions in Houston’s favor, and quite possibly it’s 3-1 or 4-0. Then, of course, you have the scoring. Golden State currently leads 448-447 in the series in total points through four games.
As for the player matchup between former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates? Well, here’s what some experts say about it.
