Houston Texans Rumors: Complete seven round mock draft 4.0
By T.A. Mock
The Houston Texans re-signed Seantrel Henderson, brought in Kalil, and drafted Howard. However, they need to do more than that to ensure that their franchise quarterback, Deshaun Watson, stays upright and the team improves on a league-worst 62 sacks and 133 QB hits.
So, in an effort to do this, the offensive line will continue to be addressed in back-to-back picks in the second round, this time targeting another tackle prospect in Chuma Edoga from USC. Edoga is slightly smaller, 6’3″ and 310 pounds, than Howard but he is a solid, versatile prospect who would be a great addition.
Edoga is quite the enigma as a prospect. Some love his run blocking and hate his pass blocking, some love his pass blocking and hate his run blocking. It can completely depend on which game from which you watch. However, one thing is for sure, Edoga can play and will be a good offensive lineman for a long time.
He needs some work refining his technique and getting his lower half stronger to ensure he is a success in the pros. He could step in and challenge for a job at right tackle with Henderson or he could slide down to guard and battle for one of those spots. Regardless, there is a lot to like about Edoga’s value at the back end of the second round.
