Jayrone Elliott, EDGE, San Antonio Commanders

Jayrone Elliott went undrafted out of Toledo back in 2014 and signed with the Green Bay Packers. He wound up making the roster and had a couple of decent seasons before falling out of the league a couple of years later.

Elliott has been one of the AAF’s best pass rushers this year collecting 28 total pressures which include 8 sacks and 5 additional quarterback hits. The Houston Texans could use a guy like Elliott backing up J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney, and Whitney Mercilus off of the edge.

Jordan McCray, C/G, Arizona Hotshots

Jordan McCray is the brother of Packers offensive lineman Justin McCray. He received the highest overall grade among offensive lineman in the AAF, per PFF. He played center for the Apollos and has experience at several interior offensive line positions. Since he is primarily a center, that knocks him down this list but he is still a name the Houston Texans should keep an eye on.

D’Ernest Johnson, RB, Orlando Apollos

D’Ernest Johnson was far and away the best running back in the AAF. Yes, even over Trent Richardson and his 11 touchdowns (and nothing else). Johnson gained 372 yards on 64 carries, or 5.8 yards per carry. He also was very productive through the air, 220 yards on 22 receptions. He was very dominant, 13 carries of 10+ yards, and elusive, 12 eluded tackles. The Houston Texans could use more running back depth so why not take a flier on Johnson?
