The Houston Rockets have a long, storied history including great players and great moves. There have also been bad moves we wish were April Fools jokes. Let’s take a look.

The Houston Rockets are a pretty long and storied franchise. They began in San Diego in 1968 with some bright green and yellow jerseys. After three years, the franchise was moved to Houston where the ‘Rockets‘ moniker became even more fitting.

Several Hall of Famers have patrolled the court for the Rockets over the years, some homegrown, others acquired later on in their careers. There may be some current ones on the court currently as well with James Harden and Chris Paul currently manning the backcourt.

Countless players have walked through the Rockets doors at various points in their careers and they were acquired in various ways as well. Some were brought in through the draft, others were signed to contracts as free agents, and then even more guys were acquired through trades with other teams.

Some of these moves worked out extremely well, like drafting Yao Ming and committing highway robbery when they traded for Harden. Others, well, other moves have not quite panned out quite as well for the team for a variety of reasons.

So, instead of trolling and trying to trick you into clicking on an article that ultimately ends up being a joke this April Fools, we decided to catalog moves the team made that we simply wish would have been April Fools jokes. Let’s take a look.
