Houston Astros Rumors: Predicting the Opening Day 25 man roster

Spring Training is rapidly coming to a close and the Houston Astros will be kicking off the 2019 season in short order. Let’s take a look at how the 25 man roster will shake out.
Spring Training is beginning to wind down across the MLB. The Houston Astros are over halfway down with their exhibition games and only have fourteen left over the next fourteen days. Spring Training is equal parts valuable and useless depending on who you ask and what you look at.
I, personally, lean on the valuable side. The team gets a chance to see some of their top prospects interact and play with the stars against mostly MLB level players in the exhibition games. It also allows players to shake off offseason and injury rust ahead of the season.
The Astros had plenty of players who either ended the season severely banged up and/or had offseason surgery to clean up stuff in their bodies. It was good to get those guys back on the field and began their road to 100%. Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman are two of those guys and they have had some bumps in the road to their recovery but by the time March 28th rolls around, they should be good to go.

Coming into Spring Training, the Houston Astros had the vast majority of their roster fully constructed. They added several players like Aledmys Diaz, Michael Brantley, Robinson Chirinos, and Wade Miley to fill some holes.
That being said, there are some holes and position battles the team will need to resolve heading into the start of the regular season. They made another round of cuts sending out top prospects like Kyle Tucker and Forrest Whitley so, now’s the time to figure out how the roster will shake out. Let’s take a look.
