With no fourth round pick due to the Demaryius Thomas trade back in November in a trade with the Denver Broncos. So, the Houston Texans next selection will come in the 5th round at 161st overall. Now, the Texans can turn to get more weapons for Watson.

The trade for DT was supposed to that but then he tore his Achilles and the team was left with a depleted receiving corps that was still incredible thanks to the play of DeAndre Hopkins. So, with the injury and his enormous price tag, Thomas was an obvious cut candidate.

So, behind Hopkins, the Texans are left with Will Fuller and Keke Coutee. Both players are extremely talented and have the capabilities to be game changers. However, both players missed the vast majority of the 2018 season due to injury. So, the team should look to continue to add playmakers for Watson.

This is where Ole Miss’ other other receiver can come into play. DaMarkus Lodge played third fiddle behind Metcalf (who I mentioned earlier) and A.J. Brown. Both of those guys could be first round picks so, it was very easy for Lodge to get lost in the shuffle. But, the former top recruit is a good receiver in his own right.

Lodge has NFL size and speed but he had some inconsistencies that plagued him at Ole Miss but something that was discussed thoroughly at the Combine is that while Brown and Metcalf stole the show, Lodge might’ve been the best route runner of the trio. If this is the case and he can figure out how to reign in the ball for consistently, Lodge could become a very viable third or fourth receiver for the Houston Texans.
