Houston Texans: Post-Combine complete seven round mock draft
By T.A. Mock
The NFL Combine took place this past weekend. There is now new information out there so, here’s a post-combine 7 round mock draft for the Houston Texans.
The NFL Combine, or perhaps the Underwear Olympics if you’re into that, took place from Friday through Monday. There are many takes on the Combine ranging from very useful to useless. Regardless of your views, the Houston Texans were able to put verified data on over 300 prospects.
There were plenty of guys who impressed, like D.K. Metcalf and Montez Sweat. There were also plenty of guys who might’ve actually hurt their stock like Greg Littel and Jachai Polite. Both of those things are hard to do because entering the Combine, teams and media members often know about what players will do.
But, in any way, it’s always good to get actual numbers down on paper to assist in evaluations. The bigger portion of the Combine, however, isn’t really the athletic testing, it is the interviews. It’s a good time for media members to talk to players and for teams to get in a room with just the player and figure out what makes them tick.
The Houston Texans need an influx of talent at several spots on both sides of the ball. The Combine provided information for that and the team was able to interview prospects they may be interested in. There were a lot of reports about offensive linemen and running backs the team interviewed, which are two spots the team could target.
The Combine is just the next step in the months-long draft process that occurs every spring. Next will come Pro Days and individual workouts finally followed by the draft. But, without further adieu, let’s dive into this Post-Combine Mock Draft.
**The Houston Texans have seven selections overall. The only round they do not pick in is the fourth round.**
