The Houston Rockets should have brought back Danuel House
Before we dive into the two new additions to the Houston Rockets, let’s take a look at what they should have done. The area of the court where the Rockets need the most help is on the wing. Neither player they added on Thursday is truly a wing.
There is a guy who is truly a wing that they could have added. A guy that the team is very familiar with, Danuel House. House has had two stints with the Rockets this season. The first was short and forgettable. The second was longer and much more memorable.
House was developing into a legitimate 3-and-D weapon with his increase in playing time while even getting some starts. He has tremendous length that allows him to lock down opposing players and cover multiple positions. Additionally, he was knocking down threes nearly at a 40% clip. He was ideal for what the Rockets needed.
However, when push came to shove, the two sides could not reach an agreement on a more long-term deal. The team subsequently relegated him to a two-way deal with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and he hasn’t been called up since.
Now, it’s totally a possibility that the Houston Rockets could have reached out to House to try and bring him back for this final third of the season. But, for whatever reason, it didn’t happen. It would have been a great move for both sides.
