Houston Texans Rumors: Complete seven-round Mock Draft 1.0
By T.A. Mock
The Houston Texans have one of, if not the, best wide receiver in the entire NFL in DeAndre Hopkins. However, their depth behind him is suspect. Will Fuller has shown to be an insane complement for Hopkins and target for Watson but he’s been hurt his entire career. Keke Coutee was drafted last year to help out but he spent the whole year hurt.
In order to remedy this (after another Fuller injury), the Texans traded for Demaryius Thomas. He was a great possession receiver and red zone target. Unfortunately, he ruptured his Achilles before the season ended and made the decision to cut him and his $14 million cap hit easier.
So, the Texans do need help at receiver. Fortunately, Hopkins can make the offense work by himself but they still need someone reliable opposite of him. They also need another target in the red zone. David Sills V is the guy for that job.
He has tremendous size and makes highly contested catches look so simple. Sills, you may remember, was offered a scholarship to USC as a quarterback while he was in the 7th grade. He, obviously, failed at quarterback but that QB knowledge has translated extremely well to receiver. He went for almost 2,000 yards and over 30 touchdowns in two years as a full-time receiver.
