Houston Texans Rumors: Complete seven-round Mock Draft 1.0
By T.A. Mock
That’s right, the Houston Texans have back to back picks in the second round, pretty cool. Okay, enough about that. After addressing two of their biggest needs with their first two picks they need to continue addressing one of them, the offensive line.
With this pick, paired with their first round pick, the Texans can draft their offensive line bookends for the next 4+ years. Getting two young tackles to take over the edge would be a major boon to this offense and help keep Watson upright for years to come.
A guy that might slide to the latter half of the second right is David Edwards. Edwards lacks the flash that some of the other top prospects do. He’s not insanely athletic but he is still athletic enough. He also only has three years of experience as he entered Wisconsin as a tight end but he has plenty of positives.
For one, he played at Wisconsin, an o-line factory, so he’s been coached well and has really solid fundamentals. He is also absolutely massive, standing at 6’7″ and weighing in at about 320 lbs. His run blocking is a major plus at this stage in his career as well. His pass blocking needs some improvement but he still has the capabilities and potential to be a very good right tackle in the NFL.
