Houston Texans Rumors: Complete seven-round Mock Draft 1.0
By T.A. Mock
The Houston Texans‘ next biggest need behind offensive line is help in the secondary. Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson are both set for free agency and starting to get up there in age. Aaron Colvin was a splash free agent acquisition but spent all of last year injured and the team doesn’t really know what they have in him yet.
So, Colvin and Kevin Johnson currently sit at the top of the depth chart at cornerback for the Texans. Johnson has been a major disappointment so far, in part to injuries but also inconsistencies. I actually believe he should be cut so the team can save about $10 million so, that would just leave Colvin.
Regardless of what happens with Johnson, the Texans obviously need a younger infusion of talent at corner. In order to address this, they should target Amani Oruwariye from Penn State. Our man Prince Onyia broke down what Oruwaryie could add to the team previously so, I’ll be brief.
The 6’1″, 205 lbs corner is extremely physical while also playing the ball really well. During his career at Penn State, Oruwaryie deflected over 20 passes and intercepted 8 more. There is still some projection to his game but he could still have an impact as a day one contributor, if not a day one starter.
