27. player. 10. . LB. (2002-06). Kailee Wong

Kailee Wong was one of the main original contributors to the expansion defense that was actually pretty decent. Wong was one of the first free agents the Texans signed prior to their inaugural season in 2002.

He was a big get as well, after coming off two pretty productive seasons as the Minnesota Vikings’ middle linebacker. In coming to Houston, he shifted from middle linebacker to outside linebacker, which would end up having some adverse effects in some regards. But overall, Wong was a solid addition to the inaugural team.

Wong played five years as a Texan before a pretty major injury. He decided to call in quits after the 2006 season. During his five years with Houston, he managed 221 tackles, 15 sacks including 5.5 in a season twice, a few forced fumbles and interceptions. His 15 sacks were a franchise high for a while as well.

2004 was Wong’s last really good, productive year before injuries began to rob him of his ability. All in all, he was a solid veteran that helped this franchise gain traction in the NFL. After he retired, he remained in Houston, occasionally around the team and still does to this day.
