Houston Texans: Top 30 players in franchise history

I know, you probably hate Matt Schaub. You are also probably thinking I’m crazy and disqualified for putting Schaub this high on this list. But, believe it or it not, there is good reason for it and he does deserve to be this high on this list.
The Texans and Atlanta Falcons orchestrated a huge draft day trade back in 2007. The Texans moved back three spots and acquired Schaub and the pick that landed Amobi Okoye for their seventh overall pick, a second round pick and a third-round pick.
Overall, Schaub had a really good career in Houston. He was a top-10 quarterback for most of that time. He had a 65 percent completion percentage, threw for 23,221 yards and 124 touchdowns to 78 interceptions. He also led the league in passing in 2009 with 4,770 yards through the air.
Schaub also was chosen to go to two Pro Bowls. In one of them, he had a perfect passer rating and was chosen as MVP of the game. He flamed out hard in 2013 and most will remember him for that, but he deserves to be remembered for a lot more than that. Schaub was the first good quarterback the team ever saw and will remain at least the second best quarterback for a long time, after Deshaun Watson, of course.
