The Washington Wizards season has been an interesting one to say the least. They, like the Houston Rockets, got off to a very slow start. They traded for former Rockets, Trevor Ariza to be a catalyst for their team.

It didn’t exactly work out too well and then John Wall ruptured his Achilles after he slipped at home. They then sent Otto Porter to the Bulls for Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis which is a strange deal in and of itself. After that, Markieff Morris was dumped to the Pelicans to help get the team under the luxury tax line.

The Pelicans, in spite of not trading Anthony Davis, aren’t really in contention mode and are expected to buy out the rest of Morris’ contract allowing him to sign where he pleases. It gets a little complicated here though because he is currently rehabbing from a neck injury sustained on January 3rd.

So, he’s probably got another week or two before he could really come back and be an asset for a new team. However, the Rockets should take a shot on Morris as he could be a solid addition to the team.

Morris has developed into a decent three-point shooter the past couple of seasons and would get the opportunity to continue to grow that portion of his game in Houston. He also brings energy and tenacity both on the boards and on the defensive side of the court.
