How crazy would this be?

Very. On about 100 different levels. The Houston Rockets pulled off a draft-day steal when they selected Chandler Parsons in the second round of the 2012 draft. Parsons immediately jumped into the rotation and carved out a role for himself.

By his second season, he was an integral part of the team and virtually indispensable in the starting lineup. He was a part of some very good Rockets teams that made some good regular season runs and into the playoffs.

Parsons bounced up I-45 after his contract expired to the Mavericks and he continued in his extremely successful offensive ways. He shot nearly 40% from three during his two years in Dallas and he parlayed that into a massive deal from the Grizzlies in 2016.

His team with the Grizzlies hasn’t gone as well as his first two teams as he has been injured the vast majority of it. He and the Grizzlies are at an impasse as things currently stand. He was cleared to return and Memphis didn’t want him to.

Parsons buyout situation is tricky because of the money left on his deal but if he wants to play in the NBA before his body completely gives out and on a contender to boot, it’s something he should consider. He has previously stated he wouldn’t rule out a return with the Rockets which is something the team should consider with what Parsons could do as a spot up shooter off of the bench.
