Houston Texans Rumors: Corner, not o-line, should be the first round target

The deep offensive line class
The 2019 draft class definitely has the perception of no top tier prospect. Jonah Williams was perceived to be that guy for a long a time but, depending on who you ask, there are a lot of questions surrounding him. Are his arms too short? Can he stick it at tackle?
So if Williams isn’t the top guy, who is? Yodny Cajuste is considered to be one of the better tackle prospects in the draft. I broke down previously that if the Houston Texans do aim for offensive line help, he should be the guy. But then there are also guys like Greg Little (who my man Prince Onyia talked about earlier) and Jawaan Taylor who are up there as well.
But, that doesn’t even begin to reveal the tip of the iceberg for guys that could be considered first round offensive line prospects. Who goes in the first round could just depend on schemes and who teams think are better.
Let’s list off of a few more guys who could be an instant impact type of player. David Edwards from Wisconsin comes from o-line U and has great technique. Dalton Risner can play all five spots and has the talent to exceed at all five. Cody Ford played both guard and tackle at Oklahoma and could play either in the NFL. There is also Andre Dilliard, Chris Lindstrom, Erick McCoy, Michael Jordan, and Elgton Jenkins.
There are other guys who could rise up boards as well so, I think you get my point. There are a lot of tackles and other offensive linemen that could be drafted in the first two rounds of the 2019 NFL draft. The Houston Texans have three picks in the first two rounds and can, assuredly, get at least one, if not two starters in the second round along the offensive line. However, cornerback is a different case…
