The final player that has a lot to gain in Spring Training is uber-prospect Kyle Tucker. He had his first cup of tea in the major leagues last year and it did not go as anyone planned. He wasn’t able to launch a home run after destroying the ball in the minors and he really wasn’t able to make a ton of contact either.

This forced a lot of people to doubt if he can actualize his potential in the majors, including myself. Now, even then, his floor was extremely high as he gets adjusted to major league pitching. There was a lot of speculation that his poor season could make him more expendable in the trade market.

However, it doesn’t seem that that will be the case as there really isn’t too many players left that the Houston Astros could trade for that would require Tucker. So, Tucker’s mission is now to prove to AJ Hinch and the rest of the team that his first glimpse at the majors is behind him and he is ready to make the league his own just as he did in the minors.

Tucker has a ton to gain this season, let alone in Spring Training. If all goes well, he could finish the season as a playoff starter and a reliable bat in the middle of this lineup. That’s the ideal situation for both him and the Houston Astros.

There are some weaker links that on this team that Tucker could exploit this Spring Training to show the team he is finally ready for the Show. If he is able to come in and prove it, the rest of the league will need to be put on watch as the Astros will have one of the best outfields in all of baseball.
