Houston Rockets Rumors: 3 guys who need to step up after Capela’s injury
By T.A. Mock
Houston Rockets center Clint Capela is out for 4-6 weeks with a thumb injury. Let’s take a look at three guys who need to step up in his absence.
The Houston Rockets have turned their season around just like it was imagined they would. There was simply no way that they would sit in the bottom three teams in the Western Conference all season long. This team was too talented, especially with a returning MVP in James Harden.
Harden has pioneered an incredible turnaround without much help. He has strung together a magnificent stretch of games in such a rare way that NBA has hardly ever seen its ilk. He is in rarified air doing things only the greats like Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan have ever done.
Guys like Danuel House and Austin Rivers have provided a tremendous amount of help along the way. Clint Capela has also elevated his game alongside Harden to help orchestrate this turnaround. He has been invaluable to this team during the past month.
Unfortunately, it was announced Monday morning that Capela had a thumb injury and would be missing Monday’s tilt against the Grizzlies. Following that announcement, it was further reported that Capela would miss four to six weeks with this right thumb injury.
This is another huge blow after the team has already played multiple weeks without Chris Paul and a couple of weeks without Eric Gordon. This team cannot catch a break yet it has overcome blow after blow. However, in order to overcome this latest hurdle, the Houston Rockets are going to need these three guys to step up. Let’s take a look.
