The Houston Texans will have some important decisions to make this off season as they have a lot of free agents. Here are four UFA’s that they must re-sign.

The Houston Texans are officially in the off season with it being nearly one week since the debacle of an attempt of a competition with the Indianapolis Colts this past Saturday.  I certainly didn’t expect for the Houston Texans‘ season to end this way and it’s leaving us all scratching our heads and with a bad taste in our mouths.

Plus, it upholds the ongoing narrative that the Houston Texans had a lighter schedule than other teams and were just lucky enough to back their way into the playoffs.  Those who believe in that standard actually have a case because the team didn’t clinch the AFC South until the final day of the season and it was the Pittsburgh Steelers who helped get the job done.

But in my opinion, no matter what variables are in front, you have to play the games and put your best foot forward.  There’s no question the Houston Texans did that so the nine-game win streak should be validated, along with their 11-5 record, the second-best mark in the franchise history.

But now this historical — yet bittersweet — season is over, it’s time for the Houston Texans to start building for the upcoming season.

One of the first priorities is to try to re-sign their own free agents and the Houston Texans have 15 unrestricted free agents to make decisions on.  The team also has four restricted free agents in Ka’imi Fairbairn, Joel Heath, DeAndre Carter and Brennan Scarlett.

Out of those four, Fairbairn and likely Scarlett are the only players where it’s a certainty that they’ll be re-signed.  The Houston Texans have exclusive negotiating rights with Fairbairn and I think both will be one of the easier deals to broker.

But let’s talk about the unrestricted free agents — I’ve got four that the Houston Texans need to re-sign as their return will be provide some continuity of some great things that got started with their presence.

Let’s examine this further.
