Two bonafide stars leading the way

The Houston Texans have the makings of a potentially great offense. That is why this job is appealing, plain and simple. It is an offense that underachieved in 2018 and could climb to be amongst the NFL’s best with the talent they have.

Watson as the quarterback is one of the primary reasons this offense has as great of potential as it does. He had a magical rookie season before it ended early due to a torn ACL. He followed that up with a great sophomore campaign where he threw for over 4,100 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Not only does this team possess a stud young QB, but it also possesses, arguably, the greatest receiver in the game. That’s right DeAndre Hopkins is, in my opinion, the greatest receiver in the game. It was known that he was good but having a QB that, at worst, is competent showed how great he can be.

There are also options at running back in Lamar Miller and D’Onta Foreman that could still be a very solid tandem. Keke Coutee, Will Fuller, and, potentially, Demaryius Thomas round out a stacked receiving core, when healthy. Then there is also young tight ends in Jordan Thomas and Jordan Akins that show plenty of promise.

The only thing to keep a potential candidate from this job is the patchwork offensive line that doesn’t have a bright future as it stands. This would be the most difficult challenge for a potential coordinator to fix and could prevent some guys from taking the job. However, the team will likely look to free agency and the draft for help early and often.
