Houston Texans: In spite of playoff loss, 2018 season still a success
Final Thoughts
I can’t believe I’ve written this entry. I know fans will want to have it out for me right now. Even I want a piece of me now. But, sometimes you have to express what’s on your heart on matters like this.
As fans, we will always continue to have high expectations for this team. The Houston Texans are now at a point where success is no longer defined by getting to the playoffs, but winning it all. Y’all may feel the team didn’t live up to expectations and that is totally ok. I didn’t feel the team lived up to our expectations as well. But, the process of becoming championship material takes years of work.

- The Dallas Cowboys went from 1-15, 7-9, a playoff team, Super Bowl champion all in four seasons.
So, it’s a journey that will take years to finally fulfill. There will, undoubtedly, be tough times along the way. This is one of those times. I still believe that the Texans need a new head coach that will get the team over the hump and I still believe the Texans will need to clinch a bye next season to get help.
But I know this, the Texans are probably going to suffer like they did this season at times. Yet, the rewards will be sweet when the Texans are the ones hoisting the Lombardi trophy.
To close this out, I like to express something from a famous Scottish ballad that I think should be enticed in all of now. “Fight on my men,’ Sir Andrew said. ‘The little I’m hurt, but not yet slain. I’ll just lie down and bleed for a while and then I’ll rise and fight again.'”
We’re disappointed now, but not fully defeated. Eventually, this loss will be shaken off and the Houston Texans will arise from the ashes a new and better team that is ready to truly contend next season.
