The Houston Rockets are always on the lookout for ways to improve their team. The guy the should have their eyes on right now is Nikola Vucevic, here’s why.
Why, oh why, do the Houston Rockets love to torture their fans? The team that takes the court now is lightyears apart from the team that took the court at the beginning of the year. This team dwelt in the bottom three teams for the first quarter of the season and now they’ve gone 11-1 in the past twelve games to rise to 4th in the West.
James Harden has, somehow, elevated his game to an entirely new level that we’ve haven’t seen from him and really the NBA hasn’t seen too often. He is doing things only Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant has done with his streak of 35+ points in a game is ridiculous.
Over the past five games, Harden is averaging 42.8 points per game, 9.4 assists, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.4 threes made. Kobe, MJ, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant have only put that stat line twice, combined. That’s unreal.
The crazy thing about this winning streak is that a lot of it has happened with Chris Paul and Eric Gordon in street clothes on the bench. This team is depleted and Harden is surrounded by a less than ideal cast of characters. It’s time for the Houston Rockets to capitalize on this streak and make a splash trade.
While the majority of the help needs to come on the wing, the Rockets have a young player on the roster who could fit the bill in Danuel House. Something else the team could use is someone to be the yin to P.J. Tucker‘s yang. The man to do that is Nikola Vucevic, let’s take a look.
