If the Texans want to win the Super Bowl, they’re going to need to change history and change the narratives. A win against the Eagles will be the first step in the right direction, but only a minor one. Should the Texans win, they’ll still have to deal with Jacksonville in a chance to secure the second seed for good.
After so many years of wild-card berths with all but one year ending with second-round defeat, it’s high time the Texans did something right. The future of this organization can be big and bright if the narrative changes. That starts with this week. Once again, it’s going to take an extra effort from the Texans as they need to play at a level that they haven’t reached before. The pieces are in place. It’s now about execution.
History is against the Texans right now. But that doesn’t mean history will beat the Texans. Teams have beaten history before. Why not the Texans?
If the Houston Texans are able to take care of business against the Eagles this week, the first-round bye should be all but wrapped up. Jacksonville won’t be a cake walk but they’ve been imploding recently so it should be an easier matchup for the final week of the season.
