Steelers beat Patriots while Texans beat Jets

There are no guarantees for the Houston Texans game against the Jets, but the odds are in the Texans favor for the victory. The Patriots, on the other hand, have a tougher matchup with the Steelers this week. Since both teams are tied with the Patriots having the tiebreaker, the Texans need to beat the Jets.

This game still needs to be executed to perfection because the Texans won’t be able to just show up. So, they’ll have to control that game. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is still in the hunt for the playoffs as well so they’ll be fighting for their playoff lives against the Patriots on Sunday in what figures to be more of a battle.

Of course, winning against the Patriots hasn’t been the easiest task for the Steel City. Since 2011, the Steelers have lost five straight meetings against New England, including last season when a controversial call denied Pittsburgh the winning touchdown.

For whatever reason, the Steelers just haven’t been able to get it done against the Patriots. Either because they are at the beginning or in process of being in decline or that the Patriots just find no ways of giving up the throne. Sure the Steelers won two Super Bowls, but the Patriots have been above their shoulders like the Bulls against the Cavaliers.

Pittsburgh must win or else the Texans could finish in third. Why? Because the Patriots have the Bills and Jets to finish out their season. Chances of an upset from either team are slim to none if you ask me. I hope they prove me wrong. But the team’s best chance to get in front of New England will be if they fell to Pittsburgh. Should that happen, factor #2 will come into play.
