The Houston Texans are the hottest team in the NFL. Regardless of how it happened, it’s time to look ahead to January, what’s the best possible scenario?

As of right now, the Houston Texans are the hottest team in the NFL. Regardless of questionable opponents or lucky endings to games, it’s hard to win 9 games in a row, and counting, in general. Whether it’s luck, skill, or coaching, the Texans have plenty of momentum heading into the final stretch of the season before playoffs.

Though the Texans will be unable to clinch the division against the Colts due to the win by Titans, each and every win by the Texans from now to the end will make it harder for any other team in the AFC South to try and take the division. I assume we all know that it is now literally impossible for Jacksonville to clinch the division with a 4-8 record.

With all that in mind, as long as the Texans don’t do something dramatically stupid with the other teams taking advantage, we will expect to see them play come January. But it’s not just about making it, as this team has the potential to take the Lombardi Trophy with playmakers all over the field.

Must Read. Three elements that make the Texans' defense the best. light

Mhmm, you read that last sentence correctly. The Houston Texans have a legitimate shot at going all the way to the Super Bowl. They match up against the vast majority of teams well, you don’t win nine games in a row on accident, and this team has just gotten better and better every single week.

Regardless of potential or playmakers, it doesn’t hurt at all to have some advantages come January. A potential bye week, home field, or maybe even the entire AFC playoffs going through Houston. Either way, let’s take a look at the best, realistic scenarios for the Texans come playoff time.
