A franchise QB is everything
Now on to the most important reason why the Houston Texans are real contenders… Deshaun Watson. Watson has continually improved throughout the season and has not turned the ball over since week 6.
Also, Watson has gotten better in the red zone during this six-game win streak. Watson has different big stats but for Watson, it is not the stats. He has been quicker in the pocket and more decisive which has taken away defenses reaction time. The offense has been a lot more productive since this change in the red zone have taken place.
For Deshaun, it is about him finally giving the Texans a quarterback that can lead them to scores when they are down or when the defense makes a turnover. The Texans have never had a quarterback that could do what Watson does on a week in, week out basis.

Deshaun has given the Texans a franchise quarterback, plain and simple. Deshaun has continued to improve this season and by the looks of it with the improving defense, he may not have to force as he did earlier in the season. Which will mean he will play his game and continue to make plays.

The Texans are similar to last years champions, as they have these certain elements. The Eagles were top 10 in rushing yards and also had a ferocious pass rush that helped them also rank in the top 10 in takeaways as well.
Additionally, they had the quarterback, well the quarterbacks, to make those game-changing plays. Let’s just hope the Texans young quarterback remains healthy and continues to make this team a contender.
