Some believe the Houston Texans are pretenders in spite of their six-game winning streak. Here are three reasons why they are actually contenders and why they will continue to be contenders.

The Houston Texans started the season on a three-game losing streak. They had an understandable loss to the Patriots, a tough battle with the Titans, and finally an embarrassing beating from the Giants.

Losing to the Giants was an extremely low point for this Texans team, especially in hindsight as they are now one of the worst in football, only collecting one win since then. Many wanted to write the organization off then and there.

However, the team had something different to say about that. They didn’t buy into the disbelief. They didn’t buy into any of the negativity. Instead, the dug into themselves, even more, knowing they were on the cusp of turning the season around. The following six weeks, the Texans ripped off six victories in a row heading into the bye week.

Now, after the bye week, they’re here to show the rest of the NFL that they aren’t pretenders who pieced together some victories against some poor teams. They’re here to prove, over the final seven games of the season, that they are legitimate contenders.
