In Conclusion: It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday

The Houston Astros are in a great position to be competitive for a long time. The front office has things figured out. Jim Crane is opening up the wallet a little more. Talent runs abound throughout this entire organization.

Nevertheless, tribute must be paid to the players that have departed with the free agent class of 2019. Quite frankly, I’ve treated this post much in the same way like a commencement ceremony. The end of one thing, and the beginning of another.

The uncertainty of the future is a scary thing. This is true in every aspect of life itself, including sports. No team ever looks the exact same between the years. Sometimes, this can be a benefit. Other times, it can be a detriment. I tend to think of baseball being the former.

No matter where the free agent class of 2019 of the Astros go from here, they will always hold special places both in this team’s history, as well as in the hearts of all of us fans. Despite the few flaws any of them may have had, they gave H-Town their very first championship.

It will be interesting to see where all of these guys go in free agency. They will be sorely missed by the team and fans alike in 2019. So, thank you to these nine guys for all you’ve done for this organization. We’ll see y’all soon.
