The Houston Texans are sitting pretty in their bye week, fresh off of a six-game win streak. These three guys could have a tremendous impact in the second half to extend this streak.

The Houston Texans season has been a tale of two teams. The team started the season off on a three-game losing streak. Doubt and anxiety were setting in and many were ready to write off the Texans. However, the team then turned things around and have now ripped off six wins in a row.

The team is ultimately the same, personnel-wise. There have been a couple peripheral roster moves and then the Demaryius Thomas trade. Aside from that, the improvements are simply due to the team getting healthy and getting more reps.

Expectations were extremely high coming into the season, probably too high due to the level of rust that was bound to exist. This team had so many players coming off injury on both sides of the ball that there simply wasn’t another possibility.

Another effect these injuries had on this team was that the team also had to get used to playing football together. Since there were so many new players and players coming off of injury the vast majority of this team hadn’t played a lot of snaps together.

Regardless of the reasons for the slow start and the hot streak the team is on, this is still a very good team. You don’t win six games in a row and not be a good football team. The scary part is, though, that the best may be yet to come.

The more reps this team gets together they better they’ve gotten. That could still hold true and as of right now there are still tweaks the Houston Texans can work out and people that can get healthy and contribute to this team.

The bye week is the perfect time to capitalize on both of these things. The following three players seem primed to make a huge impact following the bye week in the second half of the season. So, without further adieu, let’s dive in.
