Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel is a free agent and will be in demand on the market. Here’s 3 reasons why the team should bring him back in the fold.

The Houston Astros are about to make some tough decisions as the world of free agency looms for some of the most important names on this roster, let alone in baseball.  One of the conundrums will be on how to settle the starting rotation for next season as one of the key anchors, Dallas Keuchel will be a free agent as well.

For players who have lasted long enough to reach this milestone, it’s truly the apex of their career because they’ll finally be able to command the dollars that they deserve for the hard work they’ve put in from the farm all the way up the pros.

Keuchel is truly at that summit of his career and with Scott Boras, one of the most prolific sports agents in today’s era representing him, you best believe that he will be commanding a contract that will lucrative deal that will reward him for the contributions that he has made to the game of baseball thus far.

Whether he will get that with the Houston Astros remains to be seen as the team has a lot of other priorities to handle such as contingency plan on a likely Marwin Gonzalez departure, how to fill the rest of the bullpen out as well as mystery behind who will be the starting left fielder for 2019.

Those issues can be quick fixes but if they don’t want to have any worries moving forward about the solidity of their starting rotation, it would be best that the Houston Astros come to the table with Keuchel and Boras to close a deal.

It’s hard to find a dominant left-handed pitcher that either isn’t already locked up with a ton of money or still nurturing on a farm somewhere so I think it’s prudent that the Houston Astros re-sign Keuchel to fair, not crippling, pact to run this back some more.

Keuchel has come a long way from the baby-faced, inexperienced, beardless player without an identity who had a last name we all had trouble pronouncing when he came onto the scene in 2012.  That’s no more and Keuchel has evolved into unique brand.  I’d like to buy-in on it, will you?

Here are THREE reasons as to why it’s imperative the team bring him back.  Let’s take a look.
