Houston Rockets: Three reasons to not panic about the tough loss to the Pelicans
By T.A. Mock
There are 81 games left in the season
The Houston Rockets are 0-1. That’s the biggest reason to not panic. Chris Paul alluded to this after the game but it’s a long, long season. There are still 81 games left to play in this season and the Rockets will get their chance to bounce back tomorrow night.
The Rockets have their first truly exciting matchup of the season when they travel to Los Angeles to take on LeBron and the Lakers. It’ll be a high scoring, high flying matchup as the Rockets, as you know, gave up 131 points and the Lakers gave up 128 points in their opener.
Even though the Lakers now have LeBron on their side, this could be the perfect matchup to jump-start the rest of the season. If the Trail Blazers can put up 128 points on these Lakers then thinking about the potential of this Rockets offense against them should make you drool.

Beyond Saturday, the Rockets have a couple matchups against the Clippers, and matchup from the playoffs against the Jazz, and then the Trail Blazers and Nets after that. The Clippers aren’t expected to do much this year so the Rockets should hopefully be able to begin to truly establish a rhythm against them.
The playoff series against the Jazz was a great one last year. The Rockets were able to take care of Donovan Mitchell and the Jazz in five games and hopefully, the Rockets will sniff blood in the water again and get back to what they were doing in the playoffs.
It’s a long season, plain and simple. Now if Harden, Paul, and Melo all airballed all of their shots, there could be cause for panic after one game but since that wasn’t the case, keep your hands away from the panic button, this team will bounce back and short order and this game will be long forgotten.
The Houston Rockets will face off against the Lakers tomorrow night against the Los Angeles Lakers in LA. This should be an exciting affair and will get the Rockets back on the right track.
