The Houston Texans started the 2018 season very poorly with a 0-3 record. However, they’ve since won two in a row and can climb to the top of the AFC South with a win this week.

What a whirlwind of a season it’s been so far. The Houston Texans came out to an extremely rough start. The Patriots trounced the Texans in week one. Then there was a disappointing loss to the Titans. Finally, the third and worst loss yet, to the Giants.

Diehard fans from day one and new fans alike were fed up. This team had entirely too much talent to be performing so poorly. Bill O’Brien was infuriating at times and was immediately thrown onto the hot seat due to undisciplined football and poor clock management.

I think another reason that this team has been so disappointing was the preseason hype they received. After an injury-plagued season unlike any other, fans and media alike were sure the 2018-19 season was one destined for greatness for this Houston Texans team. But, maybe some glaring holes were being looked over because of all that.

Regardless, the team now sits at 2-3 and is in third place in the division. In all honesty, the team has looked better every week. Offensively, things are starting to really click and the Texans are looking like one of the most explosive offenses in football. Defensively, the line is leading an extremely stout unit.

As things are currently trending, if the Texans manage to beat the Bills this weekend, it’s possible the could tie for the division lead. Beyond that, if this team can keep building on the momentum they’re currently building they could easily wind up winning the division.

So, let’s take a look at a few reasons why this is possible and what else needs to continue to improve to ensure this happens.
