TheHouston Rocketsare well into the preseason and the regular season is just around the corner. Let’s take a look at three players who have earned playing time so far.
TheHouston Rocketsare less than two weeks away from starting their 2018-19 campaign. It’s absolutely astounding to me that the season is already upon us. It seems like only yesterday the Rockets were fighting for their lives in the conference championship.
But, no need to dwell on that any longer. Daryl Morey and the crew have completely revamped the roster throughout the offseason. The team elected to re-signChris Paulto a max extension. They also chose, after months of negotiation, to signClint Capelaa huge contract extension as well.
The team did not bring backTrevor Ariza, who signed with the Suns, andLuc Mbah a Moute, who rejoined the Clippers organization. Morey also orchestrated a trade to jettisonRyan Andersonto the desert forMarquese ChrissandBrandon Knight.
TheHouston Rocketsalso went out and signed a few free agents to replace those three guys. The first signing was an attempt to replace some three-and-d production on the wing withJames Ennis. The team also finally was able to landCarmelo Anthonyafter a couple years of pursuing him.
They also made a couple more minor additions throughout the offseason.Michael Carter-Williamssigned to provide extra guard depth behindJames Hardenand Paul.Bruno Caboclowas signed on a flier contract to see if he can realize some of his potential with this team.
It will be extremely interesting to watch this team for a multitude of reasons. Number one, how all of this acquisitions will fit into the team. Number two, how the rotation is going to play out, amongst other things. That second point is what we’ll take a look at here. These three young players have impressed this preseason so far and are earning playing time for the regular season.
