Whenever a team struggles, they always have to find an identity to keep the game of baseball fun and the Astros were no exception. We all know about Bregman’s habit of staring into the camera after he hits a homer.
Obviously, this became Bregman’s new identity that continued to elevate throughout the season. During the Astros’ series against Seattle, Reddick homered and decided to stare into the camera afterward.
At this rate, the Astros were still clinging to a narrow lead over Oakland in the division race and they needed something to help keep them loose and have fun during the difficult stretch. They got it the next day when Tyler White homered late against the Mariners. The teammates were celebrating as White hugged Tony Kemp.
And then, it happened and with that, a new phenomenon was created. It took on a new life of its own. There was this stare. And this one. It even got people from around the community doing the challenge. But of course, the best one was when Tyler White homered to win the game against the A’s
Kudos to Tony Kemp for saving Justin Verlander’s life during the celebration. It’s tough to have this at number two because this has been an inspiring trait the Astros have used to contribute to wins. But there is only one moment that stands out. Let’s walkoff this list by going to our number one.
