Continue 2018 or Focus on 2019?

At the end of the day, we know that this is not the year the Houston Texans will win the Super Bowl or even compete in it. Of course, that doesn’t mean the Texans can’t still compete for a chance to get there. But really, when is it the right time for this team to take the next step and make it to the promised land?

If the team starts planning in 2019 now, they might miss a potential turnaround for the Texans in 2018 and we wouldn’t be let back on the bandwagon.

We already heard what Watson said in the press conference.

Obviously, the Texans are confident that they can turn things around and make the playoffs. But there are fans that are under the impression of we’ve seen that statement before and didn’t fulfill it.

More from House of Houston

What other answer do you want? This team has been terrible and they’re not going to make the playoffs because they’re 0-2? Of course not! I mean what hurt the team in the last few games was the fact that they started off slow and came within one score of winning the game. But they didn’t. So now, the Texans know what they have to do.

  • Start games better
  • Clean up mistakes and penalties
  • Finish the game strong and have better time management.

For Now…

I know I have to accept that the Texans are probably not going to be in contention for some time and it hurts to say that. But that’s just the reality that we’re in right now. It’s going to take time and it’s going to hurt having to see a team struggle for wins. But one thing we know for sure. The rewards will be sweeter by the time we host the trophy.

The silver lining of the 0-2 start. dark. Next

So for now, the Houston Texans are 0-2 and they are about to embark on a tough stretch of games. I sure hope this team can finish 8-8 or higher because that would be a big step forward. But let’s just remain patient and try to see what this team can do in the future.
