Starter: Carmelo Anthony

After nearly two years worth of rumors and a brief stay in Oklahoma City, Carmelo Anthony has finally made his way to join the Houston Rockets. This acquisition has drawn lots of critics, especially after he failed to play along Russell Westbrook and Paul George and refused to take a lesser role.

Melo will be another piece of evidence for the Westbrook Curse, which is that players are better once they are no longer playing beside Westbrook. Melo should settle nicely into a three-point role alongside Harden and Paul and resume his iso ball when they need rest.

Reserves: James Ennis III, Bruno Caboclo

James Ennis was the first player the Rockets added this past offseason. He’ll play a key role in replacing Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute. He should actually be better than LMM was this past season. He’s younger and faster so he fits the team better and he is more efficient from three while providing the same defensive value.

Bruno Caboclo was a late addition to this squad and is already on his third team after being drafted int he first round in 2014. He has a tremendous amount of athleticism and length that projects well to being a solid defender. He also has a decent shooting stroke that could be developed. He likely won’t see a bunch of time but, this is a great place for him to take his game to the next level.
