1. Tony Kemp over Jake Marisnick

The first thing I’m predicting about the postseason roster is that Tony Kemp will make it as the fourth outfielder over Jake Marisnick. Both have tremendous speed on the base paths. Both make terrific catches in the outfield.

So what is Kemp’s advantage over Marisnick? Marisnick might be the best defensive outfielder on the team and is one of the top ones in the league. Kemp isn’t of that caliber, however, he is no slouch in the outfield, especially as a former infielder. But, Kemp has one huge advantage and it’s his bat.

In 86 games played, Tony Kemp has about 50 more at-bats to Jake, but an average that is nearly an 80 point difference. Add to that an OPS spread that favors Kemp by almost 130 points and Kemp is certainly the favorite.

light. Must Read. Lance McCullers should never come back out of the bullpen

Please note, I am a fan of both players. But the outfield could certainly use some more offensive consistency to it. Especially, when you consider that Josh Reddick also falls under the streaky category in 2018, as valuable as his veteran presence has been.

Look for Marwin Gonzalez to also factor into the outfield, while also spotting infield players in the event of any potential injuries.
