Kevin Johnson proves to be abysmal once again

First off, our thoughts and prayers are with Johnson after picking up another concussion on his career. Head injuries are serious and nothing to be trifled with. But, prior to this injury towards the end of the game, he was terrible.

I am no fan of Kevin Johnson. I’ve made that clear for a long time. I wrote back in the spring that the team should not pick up his fifth-year option. He had done nothing in his career warrant the team picking it up but the Houston Texans did it anyway.

How did he repay their show of trust? Well, by turning in one of the worst performances of his career. He provided way too much cushion on for the Patriots wide receivers and when he would come up after the reception, he was terrible in his tackling efforts.

Johnson was targeted five times and allowed receptions on four of those targets. On those catches, the Patriots gained 60 yards and two touchdowns. And in true Kevin Johnson fashion, he had a holding call that gave the Patriots free yards. It got so bad that Tyrann Mathieu was chewing him out on the sideline.

Johnson shouldn’t be on a professional football field. In all honesty, and this isn’t just an overreaction, the Texans need to cut their losses and waive Johnson right now and just eat the rest of his money. Andre Chachere is on the practice squad and ready to take over.
