The Houston Texans took on the New England Patriots in week one of the regular season. Let’s take a look at some studs and duds from the game.
The return to the gridiron for the regular season has been highly anticipated across the nation. It’s been of particular intrigue for the Houston Texans as they had countless guys who missed a significant amount of last season. The Texans lost Deshaun Watson, JJ Watt, Whitney Mercilus, and many more players to injury but, nearly all of them are healthy to start the season.
To add even more intrigue for this game, whenever the Texans and Patriots play, it’s always a battle. Bill O’Brien is a Bill Belichick protege. The Texans and Patriots have swapped many players over the years and there is just a lot of history here.
The Texans were looking to start the season off on a high note against a Patriots team that appeared more under-tooled than it had in a very long time. Instead, the team fell flat especially hard in the first half of the game.
Deshaun Watson and Lamar Miller botched their first exchange of the season which led to a quick Tom Brady-Rob Gronkowski connection for the first touchdown of the game. After that, the game seemed to spiral in favor of the Patriots.
The Texans managed some bright points over the course of the game but, for the most, it was an incredibly frustrating and poor game. So, let’s take a look at some studs and duds from the Houston Texans week one loss to the New England Patriots.
