Overall Thoughts and Prediction:

This is the best chance the Texans will ever get to beat the Patriots in Foxborough for the first time in franchise history. As mentioned above, this Pats team is much weaker overall compared to the team we faced last year and almost upset.

More from House of Houston

Recently, the Patriots tend to struggle a lot in the early weeks of the regular season and after the first month or so they evolve into their dominant form. Since the Texans play them week one, they will show their rust and so will we. Last year, the Chiefs put the hurt on them week one and there is no reason the Texans can do the same.

I think rust plays in the Texans favor and the Texans will win 32-24 to finally put the demons to rest and beat New England on the road. Watson will quiet the doubters and continue his climb into the upper echelon of NFL quarterbacks.

The defense, back under the tutelage of Romeo Crennel, will climb back into prominence. JJ Watt will show that his injuries are behind him and will regain his top-tier status and this retooled defense will make Brady look silly at times.

As an added bonus, it would be really nice if the Astros win the series against the Red Sox and the Texans sneak out of Foxborough with a win. Both teams are up in the Boston area currently.
