The Houston Texans will face the New England Patriots in their Week 1 match up. Which three players are due for a breakout game? Let’s delve into it.

The Houston Texans’ preseason has concluded ending their run at 3-1.   I, including the most of you, don’t really care about what their record is during exhibition games because it all matters when it counts, which will certainly be the case for this week.

All I’m concerned about is that this team looks good enough out there against some notable competition; and, for the most part, they certainly do.  My biggest concerns are how robust the offense will be with Deshaun Watson at the helm, the pass/run protection of the offensive line and if there will be any improvement to the special teams unit.

Those are important bullet points for questions and we’ll be finding out this week against the New England Patriots — always a formidable opponent — to see what’s working and what’s not.  The Houston Texans hired Brad Seely has their special teams coordinator, a long-time member of Bill Belichick’s staff to try to get this unit back on track.

Larry Izzo, although much-respected in NFL circles was just not getting the job done and you obviously saw the tension on the sidelines between he and Bill O’Brien when things went wrong.  I wouldn’t expect to see the same type of sentiments between O’Brien and Seely as both respect the hell out of each other but will things go wrong?  I’m positive of it but it won’t be to the magnitude of what we saw during Izzo’s tenure.

But anyway, try this on for size — I’ve got three players in my mind that are due for a breakout performance against the Pats.

Without further adieu, let’s take a look and find out.
