The Houston Texans will open up the season in New England against the Patriots. Let’s take a look at five reasons why the team will walk away with the victory.

The NFL regular season is officially here. The Falcons will square off against the defending champion Eagles tonight in a Thursday night football opener. The Houston Texans will make their season premiere Sunday at 12:00 p.m. central time against the Patriots. You can catch the game on CBS.

Every time the Texans and Patriots play, it’s always interesting and exciting. Bill O’Brien and Romeo Crennel have both coached under Bill Belichick. A lot of the players on the Patriots offense played underneath O’Brien when he was there. So, there is just a lot of intrigue.

On top of that, Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game and is still one of the best playing. On the Texans side, Deshaun Watson is one of the top up-and-coming quarterbacks in the league. So, both offenses are sure to be high powered and a lot of fun to watch.

On the surface, this looks like one of the least talented teams that the Patriots have fielded in the Brady era but, I’m sure people have said that before. The Texans are fielding one of the most talented offenses in that they’ve had in a while, minus a potentially iffy offensive line.

The Patriots defense has lost some firepower in recent years and losing longtime coordinator Matt Patricia likely won’t help. So, their defense doesn’t inspire a lot of fear but, if I’ve learned anything about the NFL it’s to never underestimate a Belichick led anything. The Texans defense is also looking to return to prominence, more on that later.

This is sure to be an exciting game. It’ll likely be one of the ones to remember from this season even though it’s so early in the season. It’ll be a return to the field for a lot of players and could be a great start to the season for the Texans. So, without further adieu, here are five reasons why the Texans will beat the Patriots in week one.
