TJ Clemmings, OT

TJ Clemmings was once lauded as a guy that could go in the first round of the NFL draft back in 2015. He was advertised as an extremely athletic tackle that could fit the new wave of offense in the NFL. But, he didn’t test well at the combine and combined with work ethic concerns, he slid to the fourth round.

However, that didn’t stop him from jumping the gun and competing right away in Minnesota and winning the starting job there. He started a 30 of a possible 31 games for them in two years. Yet, that didn’t stop the Vikings from cutting him following the preseason last year.

The Redskins picked him shortly after that and he played in six games while starting two for them. He didn’t grade out super well in those six games according to Pro Football Focus (PFF), subscription required.

The Texans should still consider taking a shot on a guy that once was viewed with vasts amounts of potential and a guy that could become a cornerstone on the offensive line. Sure, he won’t start or likely turn any heads but, he could be very motivated to turn his career around in what could be his last stop in the NFL.

Other guys the Houston Texans could target here are Cornelius Lucas formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, Spencer Drango formerly of the Cleveland Browns, and Adam Bisnowaty formerly of the Carolina Panthers.
