September is almost here and that means rosters are expanding. Let’s take a look at five Houston Astros who have a shot to get called up when rosters expand.

What a world wind of a season it’s been for the Houston Astros. The team has had several ups and downs throughout the 2018 season. That paired with a surprising season from the A’s has the Astros in an August battle for the division lead.

Currently, the Astros have the division lead are, seemingly, mere days to a couple weeks away from being fully healthy. Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa are both 100% and hit their first home runs on first since getting healthy. George Springer is back from his thumb injury but, he’s been resting from a groin injury. The good news is he has been available off the bench.

Jake Marisnick and Lance McCullers are the furthest from returning. But, both should be back in September. Brian McCann and Chris Devenski are both on rehab assignments and should be returning to the team in a just a few days.

If the Astros continue to get healthy and shake the rust off, then they should be able to increase their lead in the division race. At the end of the day, the Houston Astros shouldn’t have any problem making the playoffs. If they can escape the Wild Card, win or go home, game then that’ll be even better.

When the rosters expand to 40 men in September, that should help this team’s chances. It will help with the team’s health and even potentially help with going for selective matchups. Let’s take a look at six guys who can come up and help this team out.
