Will Hopkins and Watson get more time to connect?

I believe this Saturday will be the final time we see Deshaun Watson until Week 1. Game three of the preseason is typically the last big warm-up for starters so teams can avoid injury and figure out who will get the final roster sports.

More from House of Houston

Watson looked absolutely surgical in the last game as he drove the Houston Texans offense downfield for a quick drive that resulted in a TD to Bruce Ellington. He went 5/8 but the three incompletions were all drops because the WR failed to catch it, not 100% on Deshaun.

We haven’t seen DeAndre “Nuk” Hopkins on the field at all this preseason. However, he is expected to play Saturday and get his feet wet in some NFL action. It’ll be great to see Hopkins get back on the field and try to stake his claim as the number one wide receiver in the league.

As a fan, I would love to see the ‘Clemson Connection’ hook up for a TD on Saturday. Hopkins and Watson could become the next dynamic duo in the NFL for years to come. I don’t expect the playmakers to play more than the entire quarter. I think they’ll get at least 3 drives this week.

Bill O’Brien needs to make sure he knows what he’s got with his studs this year so look for these guys to get the reps they need to give BOB confidence headed into the season.

This is sure to be an exciting game as the Rams are one of the most exciting teams in the league. Hopefully, the Houston Texans come out on top as they look to get ready for week one against the Patriots.
