Staters: Lamar Miller, Jay Prosch

Lamar Miller is back for his third year as a member of the Houston Texans. When the Texans initially signed him from Miami, they were getting an up and coming running back who hadn’t played a true feature role before. Miller performed well in his first season but, his production dipped last year.

Miller cut weight in an effort to get more explosive and electric in the open field. So far, this looks to pay dividends as he does look quicker and more decisive than the past two years.

Prosch is back as the starter at fullback. He has been a beast since the Texans drafted him out of Auburn. He’ll be a Texan for years to come with his terrific blocking and occasional ball handling.

Reserves: Alfred Blue, Troymaine Pope, D’Onta Foreman*

Blue once again starts off the season as the primary backup. He is always solid yet unspectacular and he knows this system. He’ll provide solid depth behind Miller. Pope is my pick to make the roster after Miller and Blue. He’ll take over as a pass-catching running back with extreme quickness and speed.

Foreman will start the year on the pup but, he’ll likely be back when first eligible on week six. The Texans will have to make a move but, Foreman is at least the second best guy in this bunch and he may be the best when it’s all said and done.
